Samuel Hügli has been a member of the senior executive management since January 2017. He is responsible for the Technology & Ventures Division and a member of the group executive board. Within the TX Ventures unit he is in charge of the overall strategy and the allocation of resources as well as the collaboration amongst the different companies. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the for TX Group subsidiaries TX Markets, 20 Minuten, Tamedia and Goldbach.
He started his career as author and startup entrepreneur, before starting a management career. Between 2000 and 2011, Samuel Hügli held various positions at Ringier. As Head of Technology and later as Group CIO, he was in charge of the media company’s IT before he was appointed CFO of the Ringier Group in 2007. In 2012, Samuel became an independent management consultant for companies in Switzerland and in South Africa and worked for different NGOs. He also served on several boards of directors.
He holds different management degrees from the St. Gallen Business School, the London Business School and the University of Cape Town in South Africa.
Jens joined TX Ventures in 2019 as the head of portfolio management. He is passionate about start-ups and enjoyed being on both sides of the table – as an investor and as an entrepreneur.
At TX Ventures, Jens is focusing predominately on the SaaS/productivity and digital entertainment verticals. He serves as a board member for various companies and aims to be a true sparring partner.
Prior to his current role, Jens launched the biggest platform for start-ups in the DACH region as well as the leading SaaS-solution for business- and corporate financial planning. He also arranged a financing round led by one of the most renowned media companies in Germany.
Before becoming an entrepreneur, Jens was an investment professional at UBS, JPMorgan, Deutsche Bank and Finlab AG. He holds a masters degree in business administration (focus on finance and marketing) and did his dual Executive MBA at Mannheim Business School and Tongji University in Shanghai, China.
Jens is a father of two fantastic kids and loves to do sports. If he is not injured due to the latest football game, you would normally find him either in the mountains hiking, snowboarding or skiing or at the beach windsurfing.
Krzysztof is Head of Venture Development at TX Group. He identifies investments in new areas of growth including FinTech, InsurTech, Blockchain & more. He also serves as a board member for various companies to support their development. Krzysztof has more than 20 years experience in digital innovation. He is passionate about breakthrough technologies, disruptive business models and ventures embracing both of those.
Before joining TX, Krzysztof worked at Swisscom in the Strategy & Innovation team building ventures from scratch and fostering growth in areas such as Internet of Things, Big Data, Communication & Collaboration, Cloud Services & many others. Prior to this, Krzysztof held leading business and innovation roles at Orange Group developing TV & Video streaming and Mobile platforms businesses. Before arriving in Switzerland in 2013, he had lived in France, UK and Poland.
Krzysztof holds an MBA from IMD in Switzerland, and double Master of Engineering in Telecommunications from IMT Atlantique in France and from Politechnika Gdanska in Poland.
In his spare time, you will find him skiing in winter, and motorcycling in summer.
David is a senior portfolio manager at TX Ventures and focuses on digital entertainment and productivity. He is also a board member of Helpling Switzerland. Before joining TX Ventures, David spent multiple years in M&A advisory services at EY, focusing on financial due diligence for corporate investors and financial sponsors. Prior to this, David worked at PwC.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics, with a specialization in Accounting, Controlling and Auditing from the Zurich University of Applied Sciences.
David likes to spend his free time outdoors with cycling, running and hiking - or just enjoying a good dinner.
Remo is an investment manager at TX Ventures and is focused on the FinTech space. Previously, Remo founded BlockNovum, a startup scouting & investment research provider, and worked at Accenture, BlackRock, and UBS.
He holds a Master’s degree in Economics, with a specialization in Banking & Finance, from the University of Zurich. During his studies he spent two semesters abroad in Hong Kong and Vienna.
Remo is also the host & founder of LeapTakers, a podcast that interviews European entrepreneurs and investors. He loves traveling, testing new products, snowboarding, and boardgames.
Sibylle is the Executive Assistant of Samuel Huegli. She supports him on a daily basis and makes sure that he is informed about all the projects and processes and is always one step ahead. Sibylle also helps the entire team to complete projects successfully.
She holds a professional certificate as Eidg. Direktionsassistenz as well as a certificate of advanced studies in Digital Office Management from the Kalaidos FH.
In her spare time you can find her on her yoga mat, hiking in the mountains or having dinner and a laugh with her friends.
Markus is a portfolio manager at TX Ventures and focuses on the digital entertainment and productivity verticals. Before joining TX Ventures, Markus supported tech startups in Switzerland and Germany within their business development and directed an early stage investors network for several years.
He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration, with a specialization in Operations Management and Marketing from the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena. He also studied abroad with a focus on Business Strategy & Integration at San Diego State University.
Outside of work Markus enjoys being active outdoors while running, swimming, snowboarding and hiking. He is passionate about football, following every bit of European leagues, competitions and teams.
